Who We Are and How We Work
Founded and led by Stephanie Cathey, The Cathey Team was built with a simple philosophy: People Over Profit. From day one, our goal has been to create a real estate team where integrity, expertise, and personalised service are never compromised. Today, we proudly serve families across Volusia County, Flagler County, Marion County, and the surrounding Central Florida communities.
We are locally owned and operated, with a collaborative culture built on trust, transparency, and teamwork. Every member of our team—Stephanie, Nicole, Lanie, and Heather—operates under the same high standards of service, experience, and care, ensuring clients feel supported through every step of their real estate journey.
Our mission is to provide expert guidance, market knowledge, and a client-first approach that empowers homeowners and buyers to make confident decisions. Stephanie
I didn’t just choose real estate - real estate chose me. Raised in a real estate family, I learned early that this business is about people, trust, and doing what’s right. I began my career in 2014, launched independently in 2017, and quickly built a high-performing business by combining strong market knowledge with genuine care for my clients.
Today, I lead The Cathey Team at RE/MAX Signature, serving buyers and sellers throughout Daytona Beach, Port Orange, Ormond Beach, New Smyrna Beach, Ocala, and surrounding Central Florida communities. I’m proud to have closed 100+ homes annually and to have earned honors including the RE/MAX Lifetime Achievement Award, Diamond and Titan Club awards, and Hall of Fame recognition.
My approach is simple: People Over Profit. I’m data-driven, honest, and strategic, but also deeply empathetic. Whether navigating a shifting market, pricing a home correctly, or negotiating on your behalf, my goal is to guide and protect you every step of the way.
Beyond real estate, I’m a wife, a mom to two amazing boys, and the founder of Lennon’s Lunchbox Inc., a local nonprofit dedicated to feeding children in Volusia County schools. Community, family, and service are at the heart of everything I do.

Nicole
Nicole is a dedicated real estate professional with a passion for helping families find their perfect home. Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she moved to Volusia County in 2013, where she has since built a successful career in real estate. Since entering the industry in 2018, Nicole has consistently ranked in the top 1% of local agents, showcasing her commitment to excellence and her deep understanding of the market.
Beyond her professional achievements, Nicole treasures her life outside of work. She enjoys a fulfilling family life with her wonderful husband and their daughter, who is the light of her life. Whether assisting families in finding their dream homes or guiding individuals through investment opportunities, Nicole finds immense joy in making a positive impact on her clients' lives. Her personalized approach and dedication to her clients make her a trusted partner in the real estate journey.
Lanie
With 25 years of experience in healthcare, I bring a deep sense of compassion, patience, and advocacy to every real estate transaction. During my career, I created and developed a dementia education program for a hospice agency - work that strengthened my commitment to serving others with care, clarity, and respect during life’s biggest transitions.
In addition to helping clients buy and sell homes, I’m proud to continue giving back as a hospice volunteer. Real estate, for me, isn’t just about properties - it’s about people, listening to their needs, and guiding them with honesty and empathy every step of the way.
When I’m not working with clients, you’ll likely find me on the golf course, spending time with friends, or at home with my husband and our two cats. I believe trust, communication, and genuine connection make all the difference - and I’d be honored to help you with your next move.
Heather
Heather is the Director of Operations for The Cathey Team at RE/MAX, serving as the behind-the-scenes force that keeps everything running smoothly. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive, she ensures every transaction stays on track while making sure clients feel informed, supported, and cared for from start to finish. Heather is known for her strong communication skills and genuine love for connecting with people.
A native Floridian, Heather has lived in Volusia County since the age of 14, giving her deep local roots and a true appreciation for the community. Prior to joining real estate, she spent 20 years working in the medical field, where accuracy, compassion, and clear communication were critical — skills that continue to guide her work today.
Outside of the office, Heather is a proud mother to two amazing children. Kind, sincere, and loyal, her goal is to ensure every client experience is seamless, positive, and handled with care from beginning to end.
